Where does Slow Flowers Maine source foliage and flower material?
Slow Flowers Maine is committed to using locally sourced and/or responsibly gathered flowers and foliage from our fantastic Maine flower growers in the Portland, Augusta, and the Mid-Coast areas of Maine. We also use a special select group of American flower-growers from Oregon and California.
Is the cost of travel included in my ticket?
All materials and 5 meals are included with the cost of your ticket, but transportation and lodging costs are not covered by the Slow Flower Maine Meet-Up.
Are meals included?
Yes, we provided 2 catered meals each day, breakfast and lunch. On the second day, we host the Grand Goodbye Dinner. You can read more, here!
I’ll want to document my final pieces but I’m a terrible photographer. Will there be a photographer on site?
Yes! Patti Takacs of Kivalo Photography will be on site photographing your final pieces. We provide 3 complimentary photos of your finished work.
What can I expect over the course of the 2 days?

What time do I need to arrive each morning?
We start each day at 9 am with breakfast, and we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to settle in.
Where can I stay in Biddeford? Can I stay in Portland?
We recommend Airbnb! Portland is about a 25 minute drive north from our workshop. Your own vehicle is recommended for that drive.
Is there parking?
Street parking and paid lots are available.
What about public transportation?
Public transportation is available via city bus from the Amtrak Saco Train Station, which is a 15 min walk to the Pepperell Mills in Biddeford, ME.
